Yesterday’s bake sale was a huge hit – all planned and run by our amazing Year 11s to raise funds for their prom! Milkshakes, cookies and buns – everything was a sell-out! 🥤🍪🧁
They’ll be back tomorrow at our Proud Parents event with another round of sweet treats – don’t miss it!

Six amazing students represented Venn Boulevard brilliantly today! 👏
Every student either stroked or fed an animal 🐴🐰 and followed the workers’ instructions carefully to do this safely ✅💪
We loved learning about all the different animals and their unique personalities 🐑🐷—so interesting and memorable!

Today, Compass Class set sail on a local adventure to the Hull Fishing Heritage Centre!
We were warmly welcomed by ex-trawlermen who shared first-hand stories of life at sea—bringing history vividly to life.
Ruby especially enjoyed exploring the detailed boat models and hearing the fascinating tales behind them. We even spotted some vintage compasses, perfectly linking to both our class name and our current science topic!
Although we ran out of time for the Morse code activity (too many brilliant conversations!), we’re lucky it’s right on our doorstep—so a return visit is definitely on the cards.
A highlight? Discovering the original photo behind our very own school mural on the staircase!

🐀🎸 Friday Afternoon Rat Hunting! 🎸🐀
As part of our Friday Enrichment programme, students chose an afternoon exploring the legacy of Mick Ronson and his influence on Hull’s music scene. We headed into the city centre to hunt down the iconic rat statues, each picking a favourite and reflecting on why.
This fun and engaging activity also supported key Executive Functioning skills like planning, decision-making, and flexible thinking. 🧠💡
Excellent behaviour from all students—a pleasure to take out!
